Choice January 21st Class Theme & Playlist

We are so lucky to be living in a world where we can choose our own life. Anytime you want to, you can change your life, but you must make a choice to change. It is easy to feel stuck and like life is beyond our control. Not acting on our desires or just waiting for things to change will typically result in just that…. waiting. Sigh.

So, no more waiting! Is there an area of your life that you would like to change? The thought of a new career, new city, meaningful relationships, fresh financial situation, better physical shape, less stress, and so on can sound appealing. Or perhaps you are living your dream life and you would not change a thing. The point is, that we must realize we choose how to live our lives each day. Sometimes the choice to not do something is our best option, but we decide that for ourselves.

In our yoga practice, we always have the choice to enhance or soften our practice. We listen to our bodies and we take what we need. Use this as practice for your everyday life.

Recognizing that we live in a world of our own creation means that we are responsible and in control. If we don’t like our life the way it is, then we are the ones accountable for making changes. In the blink of an eye, we can start changing our own lives, but it all starts with a choice.

If this seems overwhelming, pick one area of your life to focus on. Make careful and wise choices, but do not overthink the situation. Overanalyzing has the potential to postpone making a choice as we continue to search and search for the best solution.

Choice can make people feel uncomfortable and the hardest part is often just making the choice to get started.  You have an enormous amount of power to control the quality of your life. Don’t settle for doing nothing because you deserve better. Make a choice to have the life you want, choose a place to start working on, and make a choice to get started.

This is my year of choice and change. I deserve to control my own life and you do too!
